Seated in the heart of Winter

The begining of February marks the midway point between the Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox. There are evident signs that the light is returning to us each day. Seated in the heart of winter, it is a wonderful time to ask ourselves where our energy and attention lie? Do we remain in the 'go-go-go' mode of the holidays or are we leaning into the season of rest, reflection and connection?

Rest and repair

From a physiological perspective, rest is the time of repair in the body. It is a time when the parasympathetic nervous system can do all of the necessary housekeeping for the body. Without rest or recovery, the body does not have the proper resources to heal.

It is well documented that there is a negative effect of stress on tissue repair and wound healing. Access more information here and here.

NetworkSpinal is designed to help your body unwind stress stored as tension (bound energy) and create healing strategies that bring you greater connection to the underlying patterns that lead to tension. With the release of bound energy and the development of unique healing strategies, the body can more easily enter a state of repair, recovery and reorganization leading to more coherence and energy in the system which allows for unlimited transformation, growth and development

Reflection as a connection

Winter is a great season to reflect on where we bind up our energy, both in our body and in our daily lives.

Asking ourselves a few questions can help bring more awareness and connection.

  • Are there an areas of the body where we tend to hold the stress?

  • Is there a task, relationship or concern that causes more stress?

  • Does our body have a healthy way to connect with stress and release it?

Awareness is the first step in healing. Too often we discount and dismiss the subtle cues of the body. It may start off as a small twinge of tension and one day while bending over to pick up a sock on the ground becomes a major healing crisis. Imagine being able to connect with the initial signs of distress in the body and instead of having them accumulate, we consciously find a new way to address them head on with greater ease and more energy.
